Florida and Its Fruits In Satirical Sketches From Newsprint
A jumbled local notice page blends regional items with satirical, humorous sketches about Florida. It offers quirky misinformed commentary on Florida’s fruits and tourism, interspersed with brief notes on local residents, medical updates, and business ads. The piece contrasts real local events with humorous vignettes about oranges grapefruits and other fruit. It mentions Mrs Hi C Davis, Willian, Richard Bean, Perry Vanderbeek, and Harry Waterbury among assorted local names. The writing mocks Florida overstatement and contrasts it with petty town news and service ads.

Change Road Patrol System in Plymouth County
LeMars Sentinel reports a January start for a revised primary road patrol plan under supervision by the Town and Highway commissions at Ames. County Engineer G S Huxtable will head the new system with salaries reallocated from the county to Ames, reducing primary maintenance workers from fifteen to thirteen and separating equipment for each branch. A meeting at the courthouse with all patrolmen approved the transition as the old system remains temporarily in place until January.
