Town and Country Champs Meet at Peck Home

The Westfield Town and Country Champs held a meeting at Peggy and Pam Peck’s home on Monday November 15 at 8 pm presided by Mike Varana. Twenty members attended with reports from secretary Dennis Smith and treasurer Blaine Smith. Plymouth County Budget Amendment Hearing Notice 1971

The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors will meet at the Le Mars Court House on December 27 1971 at 1 50 p m to amend the current budget adopted August 10 1970 by increasing the Court Fund from 68 150 090 to 71 000 00. The change will be funded by increased receipts and unbudgeted cash balances with no tax increase for 1971. Taxpayers may speak for or against the amendment at the hearing. A detailed statement of receipts and disbursements will be available at the hearing.

Mrs Helmer Moen 76 Inwood dies after long illness

Mrs Helmer Moen 76 of Inwood died Monday at Sioux Falls hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were Thursday December 9 at Bethlehem Lutheran church Inwood with Rev Anton Kirke gaard officiating. Burial followed at Richland cemetery under Porter funeral home direction. Born Johanne Severtson June 11 1895 in Lyon county she married March 23 1917 Mr Moen died in 1963. Surviving are two sons Herman and Henry both of Inwood five daughters Evangeline Hanson Richmond VA Charlotte Anderson Forest City Norma Jane Hanson and Jane Katt both of Alton Mary Joan Anderson of Akron 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
