Special Correspondent reports Mrs. C P Knapp visiting during Mrs. Fry’s serious illness. Several locals assist in court cases, travels, and farm duties. Mrs. Fry’s condition worsens. surgeries occur. Mrs. Fry passes away Monday. private funeral planned.
A funeral service was held Wednesday at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Sioux City at 1 30 p m followed by interment in Logan Park cemetery An obituary appears elsewhere in this paper
In Westfield the St Catharine Guild met at the James Tracy Jr home with Mrs Tracy as hostess. New officers were elected with Mrs Blase Dennison president and plans set for January 4. The community heard about local job moves, school vacation dates, and a Christmas operetta. A death notice for Levi Feauto noted his Akron burial, and many Westfield residents visited Sioux City, Madison, Elk Point, and LeMars.
Special correspondence notes 11 o'clock Sunday morning church services and 10 o'clock Sunday school with children practicing Sunday afternoon at 2 30. A jutefish supper and Luther League Christmas party follow at Luther Hall December 19 at 6. Christmas program December 26 at the church and an early service at 6 on Christmas morning.
Garland residents note a weekend of hospitality and arrivals. Mr and Mrs Alfred Sommervold and Charley Reames hosted dinner with Naomi. Mrs Arthur Christopher seeks treatment in Marion. Walter Heyl aided Dick Hamilton with wood. Ladies Aid met at Wallace Beeler. Freda Ball Verla Busch visited Harvey Welch. multiple families visited Carrol Hamilton and Alfred Carlson homes. Wyatt and Russell Heyl also spent Sunday locally.
Evening visitors called at the Walter Heyl and Dick Hamilton homes Tuesday afternoon. Rein Kiewel visited the Mike Hultgren home Monday. An oyster supper hosted by the Ladies Aid of the U B church at the Ball Bros. home on Thursday December 21. Tickets 25 cents.
Mrs Schafer Mrs Kelley and Mrs Hi Dalgliesh visited in Akron last Thursday. J L Larkin and wife of Hudson D and the Wakeman families visited in Vermillion Sunday. Mrs John Shilliam of Hawarden visited at the Westover home Tuesday. Geo Van Allen visited in Hawarden last week returning Sunday. A L Bennett and wife visited at the Orin Harris home Sunday evening. Raymond Jensen of Alcester visiting at Chas Hendricks home. New Century club met at Hi Schumacher home Wednesday Leader Laura Degan Topic Economic Problems After work hostess served light lunch. P C C C met at Kelley home Thursday with a Christmas party All had a nice time and hostess served luncheon. Chatsworth public school to give a Christmas program at Woodman hall Chatsworth Thursday December 21 at 7 45 Oclock Admission 10 and 15 cents.
Verla Busch and Freda Ball were over night guests at the Harvey Welch home Monday night. Eldon and Lorraine Huff spent Tuesday with their grandmother, Mrs. Wm. Kerr, of Akron. The Edward Heeren home hosted a birthday gathering for Mrs. Heeren with Earl Heasley, Wesley Heeren, Hugo Granstrom, and Elmer Waltgren with family present. U. B. Ladies' Aid to serve an oyster supper and entertain at the Ball Bros. home Thursday evening, December 21.
Price for adults is 25 cents and 16 cents for school children. Dr. and Mrs EH I Conner of Alcester visit Arnolds Hofstad and Frank Kerr homes after church. Spink cash grocery robbed of sugar and coffee. Marie Abraham helps at Tweet store in Spink during Christmas rush.

Families including Lucken Miller Pluegar Morehead Buehre and Kallsen mingle at dances visits and Sunday dinners. Shoppers and visitors frequent Sioux City Akron and Spink as Lutheran Ladies Aid hosts and relatives gather.
Ben recalled John Tapper birthday celebration Saturday evening. John Kallsen visited LeMars on Monday with Mrs. Kallsen. Bernice Borchers stayed weekend with Mr and Mrs B J Borchers. Barth Miller and Clare Morehead with sons called on Akron residents Wednesday evening and visited Mrs Frank Johnson. Old newspapers for sale at the Reg later Tribune office.
