Westfield school notes report a December 6 party in Community Hall for the Finnanigans and Shenannigans, with group games, refreshments, and singing. The Home Economics club missed a meeting, sewing classes split by grade, and new Freshman student Juanita Chapman from Sioux City. Basketball struggles continue as Westfield loses to University High at Vermillion 26 to 6, while Union Consolidated visits for upcoming home games December 18. Teachers and students fix up the school, and condolences are offered for Mrs. John Bliss.

No Dances In School Houses State Ruling
South Dakota attorney general ruled that a common school district school house cannot be used for public or private dances. Public dances require a license and county commissioners lack authority to issue dance licenses to school districts.
