Iowa elementary teachers reach majority with college degrees

In Iowa, 50.5 percent of elementary teachers hold a bachelor's degree or higher, with 44.9 percent at 60 to 119 semester hours. Since 1958, degree requirements rose overall, boosting graduates. 46.8 percent of current Iowa elementary teachers have bachelor’s degrees, 10.8 percent hold master’s.
