IAHS Cagers Busy Again and Community Events

Akron High basketball returns after Thanksgiving with home games on December 6 against Marcus High, followed by travel to Alcester on December 10 and a season ender at Boyden Hall High on December 14. Nelson Hatchery’s open house is December 5 with free refreshments and prizes. Johnson Township Farm Bureau and Utile Dulce Club announce meetings on December 10.

Akron Man Wins Run and Swim for Your Life in Sioux City

Don Caskey of Akron and Michael Top of Sioux City won the Run and Swim for Your Life program by the YMCA, running 138 miles and swimming 28 3/4 miles in three weeks starting Nov 1. Other top participants include Rev Don Sinclair, Bill Semple, Dr Thomas Coriden, John Nelson, Mike Sterrett, and Andy Caldwell with various mile totals.
