Community First Christmas Events and Meetings Calendar

A sequence of listed December meetings and events for local clubs and organizations. Rural Home Culture Club Reports and Programs

The Rural Home Culture club met at Gladys Johnsons home on October 1 with 19 members. Ramona Weenink presented a program titled Energy: Conservation. The group met again at Bertha Fickbohms on November 5 at 2 p.m. Roll call cited 16 members. Beth Finzen led a program on County Government, with Lois Klemme serving as secretary.

Home Culture notes and club events recap

Irene Philips hosted the Home Culture Club on November 30. Roberta Dirks reviewed the book My Life by Golda Meir. The American Legion Auxiliary plans to meet on Tuesday evening, December 7 at the usual hall.

Akron Students Earn Iowa State Degrees In 1977 Fall

Akro n students David Charles Koch and Valerie Jean Philips were among 713 graduates at Iowa State University on Saturday November 20. Koch earned a bachelor of science in computer science and Philips a bachelor of science in home economics education. Both previously attended Akron Community High School. Wedding licenses issued to Bruce Lynn Jurgensen and Pamela Jean Swanson, both 22 and of Akron, and to David Wesley Heeren and Kerry Jo Vander Heim, both 21 and of Akron. Also recorded are property transfers and a planned April 23 1977 wedding for Diane a Le Mars Beauty College graduate and her fiancé, a farmer.

Debra Van Wyk Engaged to Ernest Gabel Planned June Wedding
