Fall lamaze classes begin at regional schools

The Siouxland Childbirth Education Association will start lamaze prepared childbirth classes at 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at Western Iowa Tech and St. Joseph School of Nursing. Henke on duty at Seattle port safety station

Billy Henke of Akron is now stationed at Peer 36 Seattle Wash a port safety station. His duties include search and rescue and law enforcement aboard a 41 foot boat. He and his wife Linda reside in Puyallup Washington.

Hultgren Family Reunion in Alcester

Members of the Hultgren family gathered Sunday August 14 at the Alcester Senior Citizen center for a reunion. About 40 attendees brought potluck baskets and spent the afternoon visiting playing games and cards. Lunch was served and guests traveled from Sioux City Akron Iowa Sioux Falls Vermillion Lennox Burbank Elks Point and Alcester with one from Sweden.

Mitchells Host Family Dinner Draws 41 Years Reunion

Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mitchell of Akron hosted a catered family dinner Saturday evening August 13 at the Akron Community senior citizen center. Attending were relatives from Iowa Illinois Florida Texas and Nebraska, including the Guinns Hammerlys Hays Driscolls and Driscoll family members. The event marked the first time in 41 years all have gathered together. A tan sweater left at the open house may be picked up at the Mitchell home.

Marc A Lewison son of Mr and Mrs Curtis Lewison of Akron recently passed the certified public accountant examination in Des Moines, according to Leo Burger chairman of the Iowa board of account ancy. He passed a uniform CPA exam given simultaneously by state boards. the test covers accounting practices theory auditing and business law. Marc is a graduate of Akron Community high school and the University of South Dakota Vermillion.

Jean Barker Wins Iowa 4-H Fashion Revue and Honors

Jean Barker of rural Ireton will represent Plymouth County at the Iowa State Fair 4-H fashion revue. She will model in at least two shows, help judge delegates, and learn grooming trends and careers. Settle notes her parents are Norman and (Mrs.) Barker of Lorton. The event, renamed fashion revue, runs August 22 to 27 with three groups of four extension areas. Finalists and judges determine finalists for the national 4-H congress in Chicago next November.
