Monday afternoon and evening social events at the H Colhmann home include a softball game between Chatsworth ladies and Elk Point teams. Mr and Mrs Hendrichs and family hosted supper on Friday. Mrs Clara Suatholf and Mrs Lyle attended dinner with the Colmanns. Charles Hendy and family visited St Josephs Hospital in Sioux City.
Residents hosted relatives visiting from Omaha and Monticello while neighbors gathered for dinners and fishing trips. Social events included a softball game victory 30 to 12 for McCook ladies, and a large Indian Pow Wow near Macy Nebraska drawing hundreds with participants from 200 tribes and regions.
Western Iowa Tech begins its second year serving Ida Woodbury Plymouth and Monona counties with 19 vocational programs including two new offerings Pinty Tuning and Repair and Hand Instrument Repair. Forty years ago a violent hail storm struck the Richardson Archie Tucker and Ed Harms farms. Corn was stripped of leaves and 50 beaten down with little value. Also noted is Mrs. Magnus Hanson and a birth listed for Aug 19 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Utesch.
Regular meeting July 16 1968 led by Mayor John H Earnest with Councilmen Trotzig Tucker Small. Minutes approved bills allowed clerk duties and building permit for A E Lake added garage 10x18. Supt Floyd Davis vacation July 28 Aug 3 approved and adjournment followed amid routine supplies and local vendor entries.
