Akron fire department responded to a hay stack fire at Pete Nelson farm caused by tractor engine backfire, burning about six tons of hay and oats.

Rain brought relief Saturday night but many shop in town. Violet Fickbohm assists threshers with Mrs Carrol Hamilton. Mr and Mrs Peter Hanson of Beresford visit son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Melvin Hanson. Mr and Mrs Harry Powell near Elk Point visit Jos Powell home. Otto Nygard visits son Clifford Nygard.
