Union Creek Sunday schedule and fire incident

Union Creek News reports the Sunday school and evening services are canceled. The Junior Missionary Society will meet at the Hall on Wednesday August 17 with all members to attend. Akron fire department responded to a hay stack fire at Pete Nelson farm caused by tractor engine backfire, burning about six tons of hay and oats.

Milwaukee railroad foreman killed in locomotive collision

The Rock Valley town section foreman for the Milwaukee railroad died from injuries after a locomotive struck his motor car while he aimed for a siding.
