Town Star College conducted tests in O'Brien and Sioux counties showing fertilized corn yields up to 89 bushels per acre and net profits up to 24 dollars per acre. Fall applications, plowed under, proved more effective than spring, with 0-20-0 returning seven and a half dollars per dollar spent on fertilizer on the Elgersma farm.
