Pasture Renovation Meeting Scheduled

Pasture renovation is the topic of a Thursday April 15 meeting at 8 00 pm in the Akron Vo Ag Department. Vo Ag Instructor John Ziniel and County Agent Chuck Norby will present the latest methods seeding rates varieties and weed control with slides on interseeding research in Union County. About 400 acres have already been renovated using creeping alfalfa and intermediate wheat grass. All area farmers are invited to attend.

Adventurers Travel Club bus trip to Chicago

Adventurers Travel Club plans a five day Chicago vacation by chartered bus leaving Sioux City Friday night April 16 and returning late Tuesday April 20. The Palmer House will host the group with tours of the city and Chinatown, a stop at the Pacific Garden Mission, the UngShackled radio program, and theater at Kungsholm featuring Oliver. Meals include the Pump Room at Ambassador Hotel and Don Roth's Blackhawk Restaurant, plus a Lake Michigan boat ride and visits to the Aquarium and Planaturium. Leadership by Miss Nell Melheim, secretary. membership open to local vacation enthusiasts.
