The Johnson Jr Farmers 4-H club held its regular monthly meeting April 4 at Matt Philips home. President Jay Siebens led the pledge. Fifteen members answered roll with steer body systems. Discussion covered 4-H camps this summer. Matt Philips spoke on what we get from cattle besides beef. Lunch was served by Matt and his mother. Kent Lucken, reporter.

Swedish relatives Inga-Lisa Lindgren Arne and Britta Hallberg visited Pastor and Mrs. David Roy. After five days touring New York Washington Niagara Falls and Chicago they headed to Colorado to visit their daughter. The Swedish class taught by Fern Roy and Hakan Gustavson honored the Hallbergs with a smorgasbord greetings songs gifts and a cake.
The Christian Women's club hosts a green thumb brunch on Wednesday April 20 from 9 30 to 11 30 a m in Kalas room at Westmar College. The event costs 1 80 with reservations by April 14 to Teddy Earnest or Marietta Wilken. A son Brett James was born April 7 1977 to Mr and Mrs Larry Jensen of Overland Park Kansas. Weighs 7 pounds 3.5 ounces and is 21 inches long. Brother Troy 8. Mrs Jensen is the former Diane Hazel. Francis Shorty Hazel Akron and Mr and Mrs Leonard Jensen Casey Iowa. Great-grandfather Mr Fred Gronemeyer Le Mars. Akron residents note Akron FFA collects newspapers the first and third Friday each month to aid energy conservation.
Westfield kindergarten led by Mrs Delores Buryanek decorated an Easter egg tree and children painted eggs. Rev Durwood Clauson of Trinity Lutheran delivered the Easter message. Dozens of visitors from Akron and surrounding towns joined residents for coffee, cookies, and family gatherings during Easter.
Akron couple Ellis Tucker hosts Easter dinner with guests Norman Nielsen and family Le Mars and Darwyn Kiemme plus Hannah Osterthun Arvel Jurgensen and Wendall Klemme. Julie Jacobs Rochester Minnesota visited Lyle Jacobs and family for the holiday.
Elsie Anderson was honored Sunday for her 89th birthday with cake and ice cream. Friends and relatives from Centerville South Dakota and nearby towns attended, including the Johnson and Dewey families. Swedish visitors Fern Roy and relatives joined the celebration and a ride in a 1913 Studebaker was a highlight.
