Pioneer Clara Tremaine Dies at 84 in Union County
Mrs. Clara Tremaine long a Union county and Akron pioneer passes away aged 84. Born Clarissa Horton in Chenango County New York she and William Tremaine married in 1843 and moved to Union County in 1868 before operating Sioux Valley House and later Akron's Plymouth House. Her husband died in 1911. Also listed are death notices for Ernest Gassman age 47 born in Sweden who moved to Union County at 18 and worked as carpenter and rural mail carrier. survivors include his parents two sisters and a brother. The item also mentions JAlt Tresler and Sanford of Scotland S D with dates in April 1912.
