Washington reports President Roosevelt arrived at 7 07 with his special train. He says he studied the south closely and remains determined to reform federal offices. He believes negroes are not fit to govern in states where they predominate but will be given suitable offices they can fill.
In Courtroom No 1 at Court of Common Pleas, Fasnacht sued East Ohio Gas for damages after a wagon hit a street excavation by the company on Bank Market Street. The jury, after a two day trial, awarded Fasnacht $300 from his initial $1500 claim. The trial stretched across Wednesday and Thursday.
The Mary Day Nursery invites friends to an open house on Wednesday the 26th to contribute clothing canned goods and food for the poor of the city. Donations will be received at the nursery roomy to provide relief and gratitude for those in need.
William R Hearst of San Francisco Chicago and New York seeks the presidency. He plans to secure Democratic and Labor party nominations and will reside in Washington to launch a political organ to support his bid. He aims to use Hearst papers to back the presidential push.
