London dispatch reports American missionary Ella M. Stone kidnapped by brigands in Bulgaria. Peka Pasha, the captor chief, is said to want to marry her, but Stone declines any involvement. He detains her at his house hoping she will relent.
Salt Rock West Virginia November 20 news reports a Chesapeake and Ohio pay train with about 150000 dollars in gold derailed and stranded for ten hours in a mountain cut near Lincoln County. The isolated line lacks telegraph links, delaying aid as workers reached Barboursville twenty miles away and Huntington officials dispatched help.
Columbus Nov 20 Gov Nash told county auditors that Ohio should abolish the state levy on real and personal property so taxation becomes a local matter. County municipal and township officers would set all taxes and residents could pressure officials locally. He said state legislation would be enacted at the coming session.

Brad Krist, once warned by Kate Tobin, shot and killed her in Waverly last April. He was executed by electric chair in Auburn this morning, dying in one minute. In New York, Grover Cleveland hunted ducks, spending thirteen hours in a marsh and bagging nine ducks before returning to the city.
In Wilkesbarre Pennsylvania on Monday nine year old John Sainitaretti and his 4 year old brother attempted suicide after being punished by their mother. John says they drank carbolic acid to provoke remorse in their mother. The older brother is dead and John is alive and may recover.
Mrs Lizale Ruthven a Cleveland inmate who escaped from the Ohio penitentiary yesterday is believed to have fled with George Bailey an ex convict who was infatuated with her The officials think he met her at the wall and that the pair, dressed as men, may have headed for Canada to start a new life.
An 11 year old boy named Carroll Tyler sits in a cold Desphines Street station cell claiming distant kinship to President John Tyler. He traveled from Ogden Utah on freight trains hoping for an opportunity, saying he can do hard labor but was discharged from a foundry for being underage. The boy requests a chance and his case draws attention as authorities seek a safe placement.

Carrollton O Nov 20 burglary at Ramueel Smith near Dell Rey. Intruders blew a small safe and took $400 in currency and $700 in gold. Smith refused to open the safe. Suspects appeared to be familiar with the residence.

In Chicago at 8pm on November 20 William Brockman shot at his wife after waking to a dream of burglars. Believing she was fatally wounded he killed himself in bed. Mrs Brockman, unhurt aside from a minor wound, leaped up as the first shot rang out.
