An Akron engineer, J. Barnes, was killed when the engine of a B. & O. freight train exploded at Ravenna at 2 45 am on Wednesday. Fireman C. Cobbin and brakeman M. Jones were badly burned and hospitalized. Water shortage and a siding accident preceded the blast, with Barnes found in the tender. Barnes had lived at 450 North Arlington in Akron and was about 26 years old.
