A Mountain Lake railroad accident near Gloversville New York on July 5 killed ten and left several others dead or seriously injured. A combined baggage and passenger car gained speed down a steep grade when brakes failed, colliding with a descending open car and derailing. The crash occurred after a day of excursion to the mountain resort. many passengers were crushed or mutilated.
