Chas Renecky age 22 of 618 West Cedar Street and Benjamin D Thomas age 24 of Canal Dover enlisted for coast artillery at Akron recruiting station. Capt Beckarts of Cleveland mustered them into service. In two weeks 38 applications were received, 26 accepted, 12 rejected. Recruits show high physical scores with none below 66 percent.
