Topeka Kansas February 6 The Senate bar wrecked by Mrs Carrie Nation has been patched and is open again proprietors sell wreckage souvenirs A Newton lawyer Tom Nicolson arrives in sympathy with Nation and plans to defend her in court Harman and Cook arrive to urge closure of the town saloons
Topeka newspaper reports that Mrs Nation’s case was dismissed this morning and she now threatens to sue for false arrest. The filing cites alleged wrongful detention and seeks damages from the responsible party.
Seven bandits attacked the Savings Bank at Sylvania, blew the vault, caused multiple nitroglycerin blasts, gagged the watchman, and terrorized the village. They fled by handcar to Toledo, taking about $100 though the bank vault contained $14,000 and was ruined.
Canton February 6 1906 Robert Norwood Taylor aged 33 the son of Judge J H Taylor died at his home Tuesday evening from paralysia caused by hardships as a soldier He served with the Eighth regiment in Cuba and with the Fourteenth regular infantry in the Philippines returning to Canton last August.
