Washington reports President Gastro agrees to meet all just demands of any powers. Minister Bowen forwarded the statement to the State Department which sent it to U S ambassadors abroad. The accord is seen as Castro practically complying with the powers long set forth.
Councilman Alvin Rico resigns after 14 years with Caplin, Rico & Co to devote full time to Seguin Gold Mining Co of Buffalo, of which he has been elected a director. He will open an office in the Odd Fellows Temple.
In Pottsville Pennsylvania on December 31 a leaking naphtha pipe at the gas plant created a heavy atmosphere that sent thousands of residents into suffocating conditions. Among the 16,000 inhabitants nearly all were affected but no deaths were reported, though some individuals came close to dying.
The Folice court acquitted W. Plumacher of assault and battery alleged for December 20 after a trial that ended late Tuesday afternoon. A second case against Plumacher for keeping a disorderly house began Wednesday morning and was expected to continue through the day.
Mayor Doyle objects to a councilman’s alleged remark that police occupy only an hour of his morning. He stated by Wednesday night he would hold two full days of court, noting his police duties require more than a brief morning period and asserting substantial time for official duties.

New York political fray erupts as Devery leader of the Ninth district denounces graft efforts. He claims protests against Neabaltes Devery surfaced at Tam many committee meeting. Devery vows to fight back, threatening to form an independent labor party amid accusations and tense exchanges with fellow politicians.
Owing to Thursday a holiday the Democrat will be issued in the morning instead of the afternoon. The papers will be delivered to customers in the morning. It will include special features. The paper’s car will bring greetings to readers as they receive the morning edition.

A horse hitched to a sleigh owned by Attorney Choa Baird ran away near Market and Howard Inn, crashing into Greenwood Brothers clothing store. Two plate glass windows shattered, the coachman was thrown off but uninjured.
New York on December 1 reports a sturdy young man entering a downtown cafe pleading for food. He lacked hat and coat, stated I am hungry, then collapsed and died from starvation. Police and coroner confirmed starvation as the cause. identity remains unknown.
The Grand Jury will begin next Monday with the case of John H. Harber, jailed at the county jail. Barber may receive no callers. The jail population is small, with four inmates including Barber, John Rottleheimer serving a jail sentence for assault and battery, and two men named Young and Syron charged with robbing cars.
Wooster Ohio December 3 the fourth annual junnel banquet with a reception for their ladies was hosted by Wooster Commandery No 48 at their asylum in Masonie 'erple Tuesday evening. Nearly two hundred visitors attended from Cleveland Canton Masailion Akron Columbus and Pittsburg.
Mr. Matt Gonin of the Akron News Co. disappeared from his home and was missing for several days. Investigators reported he returned Tuesday night, and his wife noted he had been married only two months. He is said to have mental trouble and was believed to be in Cleveland.

Sharon Pa December 31 On a head on collision on the Pennsylvania railroad west of Middlesex the passenger train bound for Erie struck another engine. Nell Daugherty of Erie is dead and several others are seriously injured with many more hurt. The wreck followed a misinterpretation of orders as both engines were demolished and some cars wrecked.
The X N O T Co received half a saiload of hard coal Wednesday and faces about a week of limited supply for the car service. Soft vermin remains short at power houses. Mechanical engineer T W Shelton says the company could buy ample bituminous coal now for 4 to 35 per ton, but declines to pay that price.
The Standard Oil Company raised crude oil prices in Michigan fields and nearby areas today. The move aims to push production to meet demand, increasing North Lima to 1.15 dollars while adjusting South Lima and Indiana fields accordingly.
The remote New Guinea region reports thousands starving as drought devastates the land. Residents subsist on roots and vermin while some turn to cannibalism to survive. Two prospectors in the area have been murdered amid the crisis.

Akron residents hear of a new industry to be started in the city a site is yet to be chosen. The Akron Pixtract & Chemical Co. will operate a plant producing perfumes and flavoring extracts. Incorporators are Jobo Shaffer, J. J. Harter, Samuel W. Shaffer, L. B. Thames and F. B. Burch. Capital stock is $25,000.
New York December 31 The liner Coke sailed at dawn with Dr Adolf Lorenz Vienna's food surgeon and Dr Marie Ant Bouleamently on board bound for America. Lorenz said he would return soon to visit the leaders he met during the tour of the nation that has just ended.
