Mother's Mad Deed Ends Tragic Greentown Murder Suicide
In Green town near the Stark county line a frenzied mother Catherine Wise killed her daughter Ruth Swartz with a razor after learning of her daughter's alleged disgrace and then drowned herself in a nearby quarry. Ruth, 15, died at the Wise home while Mrs Wise, 40, also perished in the pool. The inquest heard the mother pursued criminal means after failed medical attempts to help her daughter. The tragedy shocked the village and led to searches at the quarry and surrounding homes. The coroner and authorities prepared to conduct funeral services for both victims.

Mrs Wilson Dies After Grief for Lost Son in Spanish War
Mrs. Wilson wife of L R Wilson ex postmaster at River Styx died at her home Thursdays from grief over the death of her son who went to the front in the Spanish American War and died of fever. Her body could not be located despite efforts. She was related to ex City Clerk Frank Wilkow.

William Baum Dies at 80 in Akron
William Baum of So North Arlington Street aged 80 years, 8 months, and 10 days died Saturday night from spinal disease in Akron where he had lived eight years. He was not a member of Akron Commandery Knights Templar. Funeral is Tuesday at 1 oclock at N Arlington Street Congregational Church. Sir Knights of Akron Commandery and members of Akron and Adoniram lodges meet at the Masonic temple at 11 to attend the funeral in a body.
