Stole a ride to his death by Erie train
Michael J Harbin aged 26 was killed by an Erie passenger train after attempting to steal a ride at the Union depot Saturday night. He jumped on the rear of the tender as the late train departed Akron and fell near Buchtel avenue crossing. He died minutes later with injuries to his stomach and severed right arm. His remains were taken to Parks morgue then to his mother's home at 614 Minn street. The interment is set for St Marys Church with burial at Vine Street Cemetery. His death mirrors his father who was killed by a train on Aug 2 1881. He was a single laborer.
