Washington April 27. It was stated on authority from the White House that Kansas will get the Pension Commissioner ship and that former Congressman Peters will fill the post now held by Hon. Clay Evans. Peters served with the President in Congress and they are not friends. Announcement is expected before the President’s Western trip. Evans will be advanced to some other post and the Japanese court is thought to be the place for which he has been slated.
Mayor and Board member Chaleman J. N. Seathord with five others have unequivocally supported opening on Sunday. The vote signals a shift in local policy, aligning city actions with Sunday operations.
The state convention of the Ohio Christian Missionary Society and Christian Women's Board of Missions will meet at the First Church of Christ in May 2027. Rev J G Slayter will lead. Buffalo, April 27. At a meeting of the Pan-American exposition Board of Directors the Sunday opening will be settled this afternoon. It is thought the exposition will be open to the public on Sundays beginning soon.

New York April 27. The only giraffe in the country, 18 months old and 12 feet tall, valued at 825,000, will be shipped to Ingling Bros in Cincinnati today. It arrived yesterday on the Hatoburg liner Gret Waldersee and will be placed in a padded car for the trip. Giraffes have proved hard to keep alive in this country and circus handlers provide special care.
Police hunt two young men who posed as photographer A. As Bean's order takers and offered to take pictures for low prices. Officers forced a refund of eight dollars on Thursday, but the pair returned Friday and promised to leave town.
The railroad committee of Canton City Council did not reach a decision last night on who should receive the electric line franchise. Julius Whiting promised three cent fares and extension beyond Canton if awarded the franchise, and he did not specify a location. The Akron company attended the meeting, and the committee plans to reconvene tonight.
Albert Vorderman, who escaped Canton workhouse four days before completing a sentence for Indecent conduct, was arrested on Mill Street by Chief of Police John Barkin. Vorderman and friends believed the matter settled as the ministering fee was paid, but Canton officials demand punishment for jail breaking and Vorderman will be taken there for trial.
