Two independent concerns plan to challenge a dominant monopoly, arguing that competition will lower prices and improve service. The move follows regulatory scrutiny and signals potential market disruption in the sector.
The Diamond Rubber Company plans a 500 by 80 feet four story building on the old Diamond Match site to enter the hard rubber field. Ground will be broken this year with 300 skilled workers to be employed. Directors elected include Sheldon Alden Rinehart Nutt Kohler with I C Alden as president and Rinehart as vice president. The People's Hard Rubber Co along with its strong backers will also operate, manufacturing yard rubber goods and other items.
Aged mariner Samuel Palmer of Medina married Mrs. Mary Scranton of Akron on a Tuesday evening at the bride’s son Wm Btrawhecker’s home. J Kent and Rev. W D Blarkey officiated in a ceremony noting the groom’s 7 year age and bride’s 5 year age.
A feeder wire supplying the detention hospital grounds failed on Saturday causing a power outage after a trolley line collision between Kent and Ravenna. Commission McMillen announced the issue and said power would be restored from the A. B. C. power house once the fault was addressed.

The impostor asserts the name Davies and may have been a servant to the Devonshire family.

A Baltimore Philadelphia syndicate bought 10 million dollars in the company's preferred stock to fund reorganization and iron mine purchases in Cuba.
New York April 18 Spl.1-Ttta reports a giant gas trust will be formed when the Legislature adjourns to control output and price of every cubic foot burned in Greater New York with capitalization near 30 million dollars and inclusion of electric companies in the combine.
New York April 18 Sola Pernando Yenaga a wealthy broker died last month of diphtheria leaving 84 million to his sister the Dowager Duchess of Manchester. His mother and two sisters Lady Lester Kayo and Mika Kimilu Yanaga are ignored but reportedly content as the will is offered for probate without contest.

Chas Moeler a street railway conductor files a damage affidavit to arrest James Davis for throwing a stone through a car window at the Five Points last night. It is alleged Davis refused to pay fare and the conductor declined to collect.
