Bank Robbery in Chardon Ends With Loose Loot and Damage
Early this morning four men blew open the Citizens Bank in Chardon using fifteen dynamite charges. They escaped toward Painesville with $30,000 in mortgages and $2,000 in certificates, while $2,500 in bank damage was caused. Night watchman Norman Pomeroy fought the attackers and was knocked unconscious. one robber was shot but not captured. Two suspects are believed detained in Willoughby area, with authorities pursuing them.
