They urged keeping larger lot sizes, argued about traffic and drainage, and questioned modular homes. Hinckley Lawyers Seek Split Trial Over Reagan Shooting

Defense for John W. Hinckley Jr plans a two juries trial with an insanity phase to test his culpability for the March 30 1981 shooting of Ronald Reagan and three others at the Washington Hilton. If found not guilty by reason of insanity he would be confined until deemed safe. The trial could begin in December and carries potential life imprisonment if convicted.
