Suit Settled Over Jail Abuse Claims For 139
The York County jail case ends with a 139 out of court settlement in a 4 million federal suit by Leroy Kendrick 69 and Ernest Smith 46 who alleged beatings and coerced sexual acts while awaiting trial. County officials deny violence and note Kendrick received settlement for loss of a watch and property. Smith dismissed with no payment.
