Lawyers Discuss Malpractice Legislation With Aiken Delegation
Members of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association met with the Aiken County Legislative Delegation to oppose proposed medical malpractice bills. The talks covered statute of limitations for minors, non economic damages caps, and SCTLA support for abolishing sovereign immunity.

Aiken County General Sessions Opens Monday With 131 Docketed Cases
Aiken County General Sessions Court convenes Monday at 10 a.m. in the county courthouse before Judge Richard E. Fields. The term lists 131 cases including two murders and a voluntary manslaughter case involving Betty Joan Moyer. Murder defendants include Brady Lee Price for a June 3 death and Willie Perry Jackson for a July 27 stabbing. A long list of prospective jurors from Aiken, Wagener, North Augusta, Graniteville, Batesburg, Belvedere and surrounding towns is named for next week's term.
