STAR program promotes confidence through equine therapy outing
Debra Sidberry and Cynthia Smith organized an ABMHC Wellness Program outing to the STAR equine therapy facility in Aiken. Six clients groomed and walked horses, gaining self esteem and social skills as they engaged in hands on activities while observers noted immediate confidence changes. STAR coordinator Kerri Creamer led education and client engagement, with participants learning how to apply or volunteer.
