Voters Decide Two Senate Contenders in Aiken Primary

Voters in Aiken County face two state Senate primary elections on Tuesday. Democratic contenders for Seat 25 are Sen. Thomas L. Moore Jimmy L. Snyder and Thomas P. Murphy. Republican nominees for Seat 24 include Ryan C. Shealy and Fred Christensen. Incumbent Nikki Setzler in Seat 28 is unopposed in the Democratic race, with Tom Jones as the Republican challenger in the general election. Voters must select in their precinct and may cross party lines for the general election.

Buyers Line Up For Low Interest Loans In SC Program

Crowds gathered outside banks in Columbia and Lexington as the South Carolina Housing Authority began issuing roughly 1600 low interest loans from an $80 million bond sale. Lenders included South Carolina National, C&S, Bankers Trust, Security Federal, and Mid-South Mortgage with a top allotment of 1.65 million to a single institution.
