Multiple Aiken area incidents reported by police

The Aiken Department of Public Safety logged several Thursday and Friday incidents including a Graniteville man’s claim his girlfriend locked him out and burned his clothes, a Magnolia Street assault on three, a Ridgeway man charged with possession of a schedule I drug, a Beech Island man breaking into a laundromat, a Augusta woman reporting a car theft, a toxicated Beech Island woman found on Swamp Road, a Windsor man’s vehicle theft from Middleton Drive, a traffic stop on Highway 78 leading to weapon and drug charges, a Pickens Avenue vehicle burglary, and Taylor Street neighbors accused of threatening behavior with racist claims.

Graniteville man charged in robberies

Damon Rishard Simpkins 38 of Breezy Hill Road was charged with simple larceny less than $2,000 in connection with two armed robberies at a Graniteville Mexican restaurant on Rainbow Falls Road. Aiken County deputies said he wore clothing matching the suspect and was found nearby after a Thursday incident. The employee had earlier reported a $200 robbery but was too afraid to call police. Simpkins is detained at the Aiken County detention center.
