St Mary teacher seeks public vote for NCEA conference
Laura Webster, administrator and eighth grade teacher at St Mary Help of Christians Catholic School, is one of 32 nominees vying for a paid spot at the national NCEA conference. Voters can vote through Facebook by 10 35 a m Saturday, selecting the deserving teacher from paired educators. The San Diego conference is planned for March and would reduce school expenses if she wins.

Naked man found in pond leads to disorderly conduct arrest
Daniel Lee Turner 33 of North Augusta was arrested after witnesses saw him naked in a pond behind Blackhaw Drive. Deputies say he wandered area streets and was found in the water using a trash bag to cover himself. Turner, allegedly under the influence, was taken to the detention center. his brother cited possible drug issues.
