Evangelist Billy Adams rails against rock music in Saluda crusade
Fort Oglethorpe preacher Billy Adams led a Saluda church gathering in a fiery sermon denouncing rock and country music as evil. He burned boxes of albums tapes shirts pornographic books and a guitar outside the First Pentecostal Holiness Church while urging parishioners to reject secular music and protect youth. Adams recalled his own music career before his 1965 conversion and urged parents to shield children from what he calls destructive influences.
