A spill from a panel truck prompted a partial closure of West Avenue in North Augusta. Lt Tim Pearson said at 6 40 pm city employee Marty Creech spotted liquid leaking from the truck as Mark Dillinger of Augusta was away at Alpha Plasma Center to donate blood.

Wreck kills Edgefield Co deputy in Saluda County crash
An Edgefield County deputy died when his cruiser collided with a Ford van traveling the wrong way on S C 23 near Monetta. The deputy was transporting a 13 year old boy to a juvenile prison in Columbia. Both the van driver and the juvenile were taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
