Judge denies North Augusta Project Jackson appeal
Judge J Ernest Kinard dismissed Steve Donohues appeal of the 457 acre Project Jackson plan in North Augusta. The original Aug 20 ruling favored the City of North Augusta Mayor Lark Jones and City Council over claims the TIF district and amended ordinance violated state law and that private executive sessions lacked proper notice. Donohue, a River Club resident, sought reconsideration after the Sept 2 filing and Kinard denied all points, keeping the prior decision in place. The project envisions a hotel, shops and a baseball stadium as a potential new home.
