CAP plane crash near highways spares two crew

Code Violations Found At Beverly Hills Club Fire

Stathy Verenes Undergoes Major Lung Esophagus Surgery

Aiken businessman Stathy Verenes is recovering after a five and a half hour operation at Aiken Community Hospital to remove lung tissue and part of the esophagus. Dr. Jack Radcliff led the thoracic surgery with Verenes in intensive care expected for several days and visitors weeklong. Hospital administrator Larry F. McFall said Verenes is doing very well and the case drew parallels to a similar surgery by Arthur Godfrey.
