Belvedere Elementary BLOOMS with Garden Projects
Belvedere Elementary School's courtyards host a red ribbon garden butterfly garden and a Carolina Fence Garden as part of a multi year effort started in 1997 with a deck project funded by a forestry grant and ice cream sales. Nancy Varn leads the SOAR class in planting and expanding gardens and plans to add two more Carolina fence gardens this year. The grounds now attract gulf fritillaries and other pollinators, reflecting years of improvements and future ambitions.
