C&S Georgia to Acquire South Carolina Bank in $400 Million Deal
Citizens and Southern Georgia Corp. of Miami Atlanta agreed to buy the second largest bank in South Carolina for about 400 million. The price is 55 in cash per share for 6.9 million shares, with conversion of debentures into 625,000 common shares at 55. The deal makes C&S Georgia the fifth largest bank in the region with ops in at least three states.

Housing Starts Jump 6.2 Percent in August
