Fire destroys carpet shop after Sunday blaze in Aiken
A Sunday fire at The Carpet Shop on Whiskey Road in Aiken destroyed the store after firefighters battled the blaze for hours. Detected by an Aiken Public Safety detective, flames were visible by 5 p.m. as hoses crossed Whiskey Road. Husband Charged with Murder in Aiken County
Willie Augustus Lloyd, 50, arrested Sunday after his wife Sheryl Lloyd, 34, was found stabbed to death at their home north of Aiken. Sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Michael Frank said Lloyd was charged with one count of murder after investigators developed information leading to his arrest.
