Man charged in shooting tied to Aug. 7 incident

Teavares Pressley, 21, of 1240 Crosland Drive, arrested during a felony traffic stop at Richland and University Parkway at 5 15 p m Saturday. He faces charges of unlawfully carrying a pistol possession of a firearm during a crime and assault with intent to kill. Co defendant Marion Pope, 19, of 330 Collins Ave Aiken, denied bond last month and also faces similar charges. Witnesses said the men were involved in a gunfire exchange after a call about shots fired in Hahn Village. Pope could face federal charges if convicted as a felon in possession of a weapon. Both are jailed in the Aiken County Detention Center.

Police Blotter Reports Thefts Damages Across Town

Missing Aiken youth returns after 12 hours

A 13 year old boy who vanished at 11 a.m. Saturday was found hours later. Public safety Sgt. David Turno said there is no additional information on his whereabouts. He left home on an orange and gray Mongoose bicycle from the 200 block of Charleston Street.
