Aiken inmate dies at ARMC during awaiting trial
A 24 year old prisoner from Ridge Spring died at Aiken Regional Medical Centers after being pronounced dead at 6 14 pm Monday. Shawn Michael Roccia 25 of Clayton Road in Ridge Spring was identified as the deceased. Coroner Sue Townsend said no obvious signs of foul play. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday. Roccia had faced reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident charges in a Halloween 1998 pedestrian death and was awaiting trial.
