Dole to resign transportation post October 1

Secretary Elizabeth Dole will leave the Cabinet on October 1 to work on Senator Bob Dole's presidential campaign. CBS and AP report she plans to tell President Reagan in a Monday morning meeting. Dole is the only woman in the Reagan Cabinet and has served as transportation secretary for four years.

Archeologists Find Ancient Skeletons in Cyprus Ruins

Archaeologists report a well preserved skeleton of a young artisan, about 5 feet 7 inches, found at a mud brick workbench in Kourion on Cyprus. The 365 AD earthquake left nine skeletons unearthed in the site area across several digs.
