Georgia man charged after Barnwell cyclist death
A Georgia man, Joseph Williams, 59, of Sylvania, faces felony DUI and leaving the scene charges after his 2008 Chevrolet Impala struck cyclist Rodell Williams on S C 64 near Barnwell around 11 55 p m Saturday. Rodell Williams died from injuries and Joseph Williams was unharmed. both were eastbound on the highway. Rodell was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital and pronounced dead at 1 34 a m Sunday. Joseph Williams is jailed at Barnwell County Detention Center as the investigation continues.
