Acupuncture Aids Hanoverian Horse Phantom Improvement
Janet Nagar reports Phantom, an 11 year old Hanoverian gelding used in dressage, improved after acupuncture and chiropractic work with Dr. Stephanie Simonson of Golden Rule Equine Services. Initial symptoms included low energy, asymmetrical and tight musculature, and soreness across the horse’s body. Simonson evaluated PSSM, balanced the feet, assessed the back, saddle fit, and pursued acupuncture and adjustments, with energy and movement improving after the first chiropractic session and ongoing treatment. Phantom’s condition improved over weeks as Nagar adjusted saddle and farrier support, with ongoing riding and training.
