Incumbent Don Sprawls defeated Ed Giobbe 709 to 477 to win a second term in District 3. The Republican primary drew 1,186 of 4,559 voters, about 26 percent, with Sprawls winning seven of eight precinct boxes including Aiken 1 and Aiken 6. Sprawls led downtown Aiken, tallying 220 ballots to Grobbe 57 in Aiken 1.
