Woolly Bear in School Sparks Insect Talk and Lessons
A Woolly Bear caterpillar becomes a classroom study subject as students discover its life cycle and the parasitoid pupae that emerge. Clemson entomologist Dr. Joe Culin explains the caterpillar's biology while experts note winter prediction folklore and list beneficial insects such as ladybugs praying mantis and lacewings. The piece ends with a community notice for the CSRA Hydrangea Society meeting hosted by Olivia Miklanis of Augusta.

Lincoln documents moved to new state library in Springfield
The world’s largest collection of Abraham Lincoln documents is being moved a block to the new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield. The operation, coordinated by Gary Stockton, involves years of planning, a three week move, and 109000 dollars, with items including a Gettysburg Address copy and Lincoln’s lying in state photo. The old library beneath the Old State Capitol is half emptied as shelves and crates fill the space before the late month opening. The Gettysburg Address remains to be moved in a protected container to the new vault on a quiet day.
