North Augusta shooting under investigation details released

A 28 year old man was shot in the abdomen Sunday in North Augusta and remains in intensive care at University Hospital. Det. Tim Thornton said witnesses described multiple loud noises and a man seen lying in a driveway before being placed in a vehicle and driven away. Investigators located two 9 millimeter shell casings at the scene and no motive or suspect has been identified.

Mars Viewings Continue At USC Aiken Planetarium

City of Aiken Buys Old Playhouse Structure

The City of Aiken becomes owner of the former Aiken Community Playhouse on Price Avenue paying 125000 to assume the lease and acquire the property. The Playhouse owes the city 300000 for funds used to build the new venue at the Washington Center. Aiken County sheriff investigators seek Lisa Shuttleworth a 34 year old Beech Island mother of two last heard Thursday morning. She left no car and may be on foot or in another’s vehicle. she spoke with a daughter at 7 15 a m and was due to pick up her son at 3 30 p m. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
