Green Boundary Club mobilizes hurricane relief donations
The Green Boundary Club at 780 Whiskey Road asks Aiken residents to donate canned goods and non perishables for Hurricane Katrina survivors. Items go to Feed the Children Distribution Center in Atlanta, with 800 cars donating and three tractor trailers loaded. Volunteers led by Jack Wetzel coordinate drop offs and Roma Foods and Cisco trucks haul meals to distribution. The club plans events including a New Orleans Jazz Festival to sustain effort as needs persist. Hours are 9 am to 7 pm daily and contact numbers are listed.
