Ulti mate Tailgaters won the overall title as cooks lined up at 6 p.m. Sunday for a five category contest including chicken ribs pulled pork baked beans and wild card. Judges from local public figures named winners in each category and the overall results.
Wild card winners include Thunder Borton and Buckwheat Cookers with It’s All Good Grillin’ taking a top spot. Swine & Dine and Smokin’ Stacks place second and third as Ultimate Tailgaters claim a third. City figures praise the turnout and ribs disappearing.
Competitive barbecue scenes crown 1st to 3rd places with teams Smokin Stacks Ultimate Tailgaters and Swine and Dine. A recipe mix uses apple jelly mustard cider vinegar and peppers with optional jalapenos. Haley Hughes notes beans favor Lessie Prices.
